Papers dealing with novel applications in areas such as qualitative and quantitative analysis, instrumentation, surface spectroscopy, non-linear optics, laser photochemistry, and fundamental aspects of atmospheric, environmental and biomedical measurements are also encouraged. Papers describing minor extensions of previously published methodologies are not appropriate for the journal, nor are papers that describe routine use of standard techniques, and such papers shall therefore not be considered. Manuscripts dealing with basic or applied aspects of optical spectroscopy in materials, mathematic, chemistry, medicine and biology and novel experimental and/ or theoretical approaches of spectroscopy are considered in Spectrochimica Acta, Part A.
